Bye bye Sunny Side! Maldives – always natural
After almost a decade of using Maldives- the sunny side of life, Maldives has adopted a new logo to promote the Maldives tourism. The Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC) revealed the country's new tourism slogan and logo, apparently after a year-long consultation.

According to MMPRC  the design consultation involved the government and industry and they came up with the logo and slogan ‘Maldives – Always Natural’ which they feel shows what is special about the country.

The natural beauty is something that many people say is the best thing about the country, according to Thoyyib Mahamed, who is the Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation chairperson. The second biggest export after tourism is fishing and so fish feature in the logo as well as the environmental theme of the slogan being relevant too.

The logo and slogan were made up by a private company called Quo Keen of Bangkok and London. Reportedly Maldives government paid US$100,000 for the design.  Some welcomed the re-branding of the country there are hostility from many corners for the new logo and slogan.
